My customer didn't actually look at Oce and Mita yet but he is. It would be the the lowest priced Oce and Mita machines that could copy, scan, and print. That comparison chart was very helpful. The Mita machine that was listed is that the lowest priced machine they have that can the print, scan, and copy?
That PPT says Océ has no web printing solution, but it does indeed offer not one but two, the Océ Print Exec Workgroup and Océ Reprodesk can both accept jobs from the web. They are additional options.

The digital competitive matrix Océ information is incorrect in several areas, mostly regarding the controller. The TDS controller is not "customer suplied" you can only get it from Océ. Every system comes with a controller. They are not "embedded" they are a seperate PC that the plotter and scanner connect to via proprietary cabling. The specs on the PC vary depending on age of system, new systems come with a 2.8ghz pentium4 processor, 512mb RAM, 40gb of HD space. They have a CD and floppy drive, but you can't print files from them so they are irrelevant. The operating system of the controller is XP Embedded.

Scan to file is optional on the TDS600 as well as the 400, and as stated in the matrix, the TDS300 cannot scan and can never be upgraded to scan. All TDS systems have an optional Postscript that allows native processing of PDF files, none of them support native DWG processing. (unless you buy the Reprodesk software). The TDS400 and 600 support remote queue management by default, the TDS300 does not. Job accounting is optional on all TDS systems.

Ethernet connection is standard on all TDS systems, you cannot connect Parallel, serial or anything else. Stamping is available with Print Exec LT, Print Exec Workgroup and Reprodesk.

The Océ has us beat in one way, it tracks square feet instead of linear. This doesn't matter if you print everything 36" but if you print much 18" or even 12"(say from the cut sheet tray), the Océ kicks our butt on cost per page.

If you have any Océ questions, feel free to ask =)
