Question for some experts...

I am working with a graphic arts firm and just installed a 2238c for their proofs, and general office requirements. The firm is smaller but the people there have all come from LARGE firms where CLC's populated their enviorment. My questinos does not come from quality, they are fine wiith that, however, I need to find a job tracking software that can capture from MAC's running OS9 and OS10

USER NAME
NAME OF DOCUMENT BEING PRINTER
TIME/DATE

etc.

The server is a win 2000 and some of the computers are windows. can print server do this, has anyone ran into this, it seems as if there is nothing out there that will support the MAC WORLD? any suggestions would be appreciated.

thanks

brian

If I understand you correctly, you are suggesting to share the post script driver through the server, add PM AUDIT to the workstations and set my parameters from there and it will get the job done?

Do you have experience with this in some accounts that you have had sucess with?

reson I am asking, the sales rep from PM AUDIT wasn't able to tell me for sure if the RICOH 2238c was compatible with their software. I don't want to test in the clients office.

thanks vince,
Sorry to ressurect an old topic, but I've been working on this recently and thought I'd throw in my 2 cents.

You can implement a solution that tracks prints at the server level as Vince suggested. This works fine as long as your mac users have a login on the w2k server. It will report who and what printed.

The issue is that it can't track anything else. If the customer has project codes or additional information to input, they will need a solution that includes Macintosh support.

Equitrac and Technesis have Macintosh support. I'm sure some others have it, I'm just not familiar with them.

The Technesis Macintosh Client looks like it was programmed by some 9-year old, but seems to work ok.
