How are you combating print from USB?
I have a church that likes the idea of Sunday School Teachers being able to prepare at home, save to flash drive, and bring it to the church to be printed on Sunday morning.

Call your Ricoh DSS. I had this question pop up in a demo last week, and our Sales Engineer told me that there is a code that can be input in Service Mode that will enable Print-from-USB on the RFG equipment. I emailed our DSS and confirmed. The first thing I did was revise pricing I had submitted to a church w/ the same need, because initially I had proposed a desktop Lexmark MFP as a second device to provide this feature. Apparently, Ricoh doesn't publicize this as a standard feature, because it causes compliance issues in certain verticals such as medical.
I just got off the phone with a Ricoh Service Support guy who says it can only be done if the machine has "media print support" which is what has to be turned on for it to work. Something about 1110-?? I am not validating his answer, only telling you what I was told. I have not yet heard back from my DSS. Can you share more details please?
Never lost a deal to this but came close about a year ago. Ended up bundling in a Ricoh 1000sf that has this as a standard feature into the deal. It ran $315 retail plus shipping and it was a wash when looking at costs of adding the USB scan to option on the Ricoh device. Not sure if that 1000sf is still around or not though.
