Go into Printer Features>System>Sub Paper Size and set to either On or Auto. This means when paper size mismatch occurs (A4/LT) then macine will automatically output without throwing an error.

This is better than setting papers sizes in application because if someone sends you a file with the wrong paper size it still won't print. It will if you set Sub Paper Size.

Also if you set Auto Continue to a specified time the job which has an error will clear and one set printed. Any other jobs then behind it will print.
Under your scenario, if I print something that needs letterhead and forget to load letterhead before I print my job will simply print out on plain paper? Same for Plain Paper if it runs out of plain and there is only letterhead in the trays? same for Colored Paper? Glossy Stock?

The only way this works out for good is if the user is an idiot and keeps setting the wrong paper type when he means to print "plain paper".
