Practicing Safety: Preparing to Reopen

As employees, going back to work is stressful and less productive if we’re worried about our safety. As businesses, creating a safe environment creates more effective employees. 

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, If the economy doesn’t open by July the unemployment rate of 14.7% is expected to exceed The Great Depression unemployment rate of 24.9%.  If businesses open by July, 233,000 more people will die due to the coronavirus, according to the Penn Wharton Budget Model. As business leaders, this is a tough decision to make. When you reopen it is imperative to create a safe, distraction-free environment so that employees can be productive and confident in their work to drive business. 

The EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission) gave employers the green light to take employees' temperatures using Temperature Kiosks to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus. Identification of a potential elevated employee helps deliver the promise of a safe workplace. read more here
