Engineer uses Terra Model software to create plots (.pro files). The problem that I will describe occurs using HPGL driver, WinPrint driver, and PlotClient Win "plt file". No other driver works with this software program... that we know of.

PROBLEM:
Plot 24 x 36 Landscape...image will be 3/16" short on 36" edge and 1/32" long on 24" edge. As a result, engineer can't use because image is out of scale. Ironically, if the image is created on HP Plotter and then copied on 470W, the copy is very accurate while the plot is not...go figure.

If the same image is rotated 90 degrees and plotted portrait on 24 x 36 Portrait...image is just fine.

We have tried many, many ideas altering both what we're doing in Terra Model as well as Plotbase. The image never changes unless we alter the DX percentage in plotbase...and it is only after we move to 100.6%...and that move makes the image on the 36" edge too long.

Ricoh Tech had lots of ideas but nothing really worked. The only thing we didn't do is reinstall the software or re-seat the controller. This doesn't seem reasonable since the image plots correctly in portrait but not in landscape.

Any ideas...if not, the machine may be returned.

Did you try in the main Plotbase program:
Configuration > Properties > Spool Config > NEW >CHANGE > Default SSL> Default Specific...
MAINTAIN RATIO should be checked, as well as "middle center" for media type and position.
ps: try changing the Default Type CFG if this does not work.
I cleared up a similar problem by doing this on a 470 trying to print from program called Solid Edge.
Tried changing Default SSl in Config as you mentioned...except for Middle Center setting...will now try this setting today. Oddly, on Plotbase 3.3, I was never able to permanently uncheck the "maintain ratio" setting for some reason in the Default SSL.

Not sure what you mean by changing the Default Type CFG. Do you mean creating new CFG spooler?

New information: Problem may have been solved in Plotbase 3.5 on 480W. Double checking today.
There is a "default ssl" under both of the cfg and ssl readers. As a result, the "default ssl" nomenclature is somewhat confusing and misleading. Regardless, I changed the "default ssl" under both readers since I was using the HPGL driver and Plotclient Win...and they use the CFG and SSL readers respectively.

I'm still not sure what was meant by changing the Default Type CFG. Does this mean to create a new CFG spooler? or changing the "default ssl" in the cfg reader?
