MELVILLE, N.Y., Sept. 7, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Broadening the range of inline bindery solutions available to production print customers, Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, has announced the addition of the Plockmatic Group's BLM50 and BLM35 Professional Booklet-Makers to the finishing line-up of its imagePRESS C850 Series digital color production presses.

By combining Plockmatic's modular devices with Canon's imaging technology, imagePRESS users can now have the ability to produce saddle-stitched, creased, full-bleed, square-fold booklets of up to 200 pages (50 sheets) with the BLM50 and up to 140 pages (35 sheets) with the BLM351. In-line, automatic booklet production via imagePRESS C850/C750 digital color presses configured with the Plockmatic BLM models is supported for coated, uncoated and textured stocks up to 110 pound Cover and for validated media up to 130 pound Cover (350 gsm)2.

For additional flexibility, both booklet-makers can be hand-fed for near-line use, which allows for saddle-stitched, square-fold booklets with front edge trim.

Positioned for small-to-medium commercial, franchise, in-plant and transactional printers, imagePRESS C850 Series has been awarded the 2017 BLI PRO Award for Outstanding Color Light Production Device and is equipped to efficiently and reliably handle a variety of media options, including heavy, coated, and textured stocks  as well as envelopes.

Plockmatic BLM50 and BLM35 Booklet-Makers will be available in the United States as options for the imagePRESS C850 Series from September 2017. Availability and engine compatibility in other regions is subject to local rollout planning and may differ.
