With an eye on expansion in the middle part of the commonwealth, Lower Swatara Township-based Phillips Office Solutions has acquired Phillips Supply House in Lycoming County.

Phillips Office Solutions, which has about 150 employees in Pennsylvania and Maryland, said acquiring the fellow Sharp dealer fulfills a five-year goal of growing to the north of Harrisburg.

Founded in 1893, Phillips Supply House is a fourth-generation document management provider that serves Lycoming, Clinton, Clearfield, Union, Northumberland, Snyder, Tioga, Bradford, Potter, Sullivan, Montour and Columbia counties.

"Our companies have had a relationship for over 20 years," said Summer Walter, a spokeswoman for Phillips Office Solutions. "We have always been impressed by their very tenured and experienced team and with their reputation for customer satisfaction. PSH not only brings us into the Williamsport market, it gives us a base to serve surrounding communities of Bloomsburg, Danville, Sunbury and State College."

Phillips Supply House had 14 employees at the time of the deal. Of those, 12 have opted to stay on with Phillips Office Solutions.

The Dauphin County company will use the Phillips Supply House name for the foreseeable future, as well as retain the Williamsport office as a showroom, service depot and distribution center.

Terms of the deal, effective Dec. 31, were not disclosed. The Phillips families that own the two businesses are not related.
