On 2 separate machines in 2 separate locations today (Savin C9020 and Savin C2828) I encountered the same problem. When printing multiple copies using the PCL drivers the systems rotate sorted. This is a pain when you want to print 10 copies of a single page document and every one is criss-crossed. I worked with tech support on several work arounds, but have not found a satisfactory solution yet. Has anyone else seen this and do you have a solution?

I have toggled Ignore Application Collate and deselected Collate within the applications with limited success...in that when it does not rotate, it does not collate at all, leaving 111,222,333 for manual collation.

This is a sleeping dog that is about to keep me busy correcting for some time in every location where I have used my standard PCL 6 install. I do not like RPCS because it is difficult to set black & white printing as a default since each preset icon would need to be configured.

Any help greatly appreciated.

I agree, the PCL5 is better for older applications. However, at some point I feel like you have to go with the new stuff and see if you can make the switch...I've had fairly good luck up until now and when there is a problem (usually a medical office printing from practice management or EMR software that is older). Unfortunately, the PCL5 doesn't resolve the issue either. Here is the best solution I've found so far.

1. When installing the print driver, you go into printing preferences and advanced>printing defaults and deselect "ignore application collate".
2. Now it will work properly except when you print multiples of a single page document, you must also deselect collate in the application.

The best solution would be if there is an SPmode or driver upgrade that would change the sorting from rotate to electronic...if that's not satisfactory to the customer, they can buy a shift sort or finisher.
