— Omtool, the trusted provider of document capture and workflow solutions, today announced AccuRoute® CX for document classification and data extraction is now available to clients using its AccuRoute document capture and workflow software. This new product will deliver forms-processing capabilities to its legal clients as well as its broad base of customers across a wide variety of industries. Considering AccuRoute CX is ideal for handling correspondence and intellectual property documents for legal teams, Omtool will reveal this new product while at the annual LegalTech® Conference in New York City this week.

Dealing with client/matter correspondence and the communication of documents is at the heart of a legal team’s business. Throughout the day and around the world, legal teams are receiving critical client-matter correspondence such as intellectual property documents that arrive from domestic and international patent and trademark offices. This correspondence arrives through a variety of means (fax, email, traditional postal mail) and must be sorted, imaged and delivered to the fee earners who need to deal with them immediately.

AccuRoute CX can parse through incoming documents, break them up into specific document types and extract critical data elements, such as a matter, client or reference ID when appropriate. Then, once all documents are received and processed, the complete correspondence file can be assembled and prepared for delivery and saved to the firm’s document management system. This process can be applied to a wide variety of document workflows within law firms or companies with document-intensive business processes to reduce time spent sorting and classifying documents, errors introduced when extracting data, and assembling complete document sets to provide for quicker time to closure and revenue.

“AccuRoute CX for forms processing may find applications in many areas across a firm. We find the possibilities to be especially interesting for managing significant volumes of inbound electronic correspondence from law firms outside the U.S. When this correspondence arrives, it is critical that it is directed immediately to the responsible attorney, docket departments and other administrative staff. Successful automation would drastically reduce processing time and allow us to quickly initiate actions triggered by that correspondence. Technology such as AccuRoute CX would have a real impact on operational efficiencies and raise the quality of client service,” said, Kim Giertz, Chief Information Officer, Marshall Gerstein & Borun.

In addition to AccuRoute CX, Omtool will be showcasing enhancements to its flagship document capture and fax software suite, AccuRoute, with solutions configured specifically for legal teams. These solutions include e-filing facilitation, e-discovery accessibility, mailroom automation, records management, as well as the product released last year for field-based and mobile firm employees, AccuRoute Mobile.

Omtool will be showcasing AccuRoute CX, AccuRoute document capture and workflow with AccuRoute Mobile to address legal document processing challenges in booth #310 at the annual LegalTech Conference in New York, February 3rd – 5th of 2015.
