OKI Data Americas has announced the appointment of Dan Murphy to senior vice president of marketing. In this new role, Murphy is responsible for providing executive leadership and management of all marketing activities for the OKI Data Americas organization, with a focus on channel/partner and vertical marketing, along with marketing leadership.

Murphy comes to OKI Data Americas from Unisys, where he held the role of vice president of global marketing. At Unisys, he was responsible for developing the company's global field marketing strategy, leading global alliances and demand-generation activities. In his 20-plus years of experience in the marketing field, Murphy has held key positions at Avaya, Ricoh Co. Ltd./IKON Office Solutions and Pitney Bowes.

"Dan Murphy brings tremendous skill, strategic vision and innovative leadership to our marketing group," said Sergio Horikawa, deputy president, OKI Data Americas. "OKI Data is pleased to announce Dan's appointment as senior vice president of marketing and we are confident that he will provide the marketing leadership needed to support our organizational objectives."

Murphy received his master's degree in business administration from Harvard Business School and earned his bachelor of science degree from Northeastern University in marketing and international business.

In other news, OKI Data Americas has announced the opening of a regional sales office in Dallas, Texas. The new 3,000-square-foot space will be used to host product demonstrations, dealer training and meetings. A variety of OKI printing solutions will be showcased in this new office, including those that address the needs of the graphic arts and production space, plus those designed to improve office automation and workflow. The office will serve to better accommodate business growth and emerging opportunities throughout the region.

To celebrate the opening, OKI will be hosting an open house event in the new office from noon to 5 p.m. Central time on Oct. 6, 2015. Visitors will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with a selection of OKI's professional and office printing devices, and meet top OKI Data executives.

"OKI Data Americas is excited to announce the opening of our new office in Dallas," Horikawa said. "The opening of our second U.S. office will increase our capability to showcase solutions based on our product platforms to customers and channel partners in the south central region."
