NewField IT Partners with Print Audit® to Integrate Assessor Data with Asset DB™

Calgary, Alberta - November 10, 2010 - NewField IT, a leading software and service provider for the MPS market today announced a User Data feature for its leading software suite Asset DB™. The new feature enables user specific printing habits and device output activity to be bought together into a single floor plan view. This innovative new feature means user specific activity can now be visualised on a floor map bringing faster user acceptance of a future state design and implementations less reliant on assumptions of 'who is printing what and where'. The initial release accepts user data taken from Print Audit Assessor.

To date the analysis of a print environment has been either device or user-centric driven, with no cross over.

By bringing data from Print Audit Assessor to a single floor plan view, an MPS Consultant can use Asset DB™ to facilitate a more sophisticated future state plan design by taking into consideration both specific user habits relating to a specific device as well as the optimum device positioning.

Robert Newry, Co-Founder, NewField IT comments "We are very excited to be the first company to create a single floor plan view that shows both device and user activity. We believe this will be as valuable in creating more robust future state designs as for on-going management of an MPS contract."

Asset DB's User Data Module has the ability to accept thousands of lines of data about the types of job individuals are printing and illustrating that on a floor plan. An MPS Consultant using Asset DB will be able to switch from a specific user or department view showing which devices they are printing to (by volume, paper type, colour etc) to a device centric view showing which user(s) are printing to a particular device or group of devices. The latter will be especially useful for moves, adds, changes and disposals by illustrating which users are printing to a device and therefore the consequences of any change.

Enabling data integration with alternate software, such as Assessor - developed by leading print management company Print Audit® - is a key area of the module development. Print Audit Assessor, gives dealers and vendors the ability to provide potential customers with an extremely detailed and accurate snapshot of their printing environment. Assessor gathers comprehensive workflow data that includes who is printing, what documents are being printed, the size of each job and more. The combining of the two tools will undoubtedly provide users with more flexibility, wider project scope and enhanced functionality.

Already a major innovator within the MPS toolset market, this new Asset DB module continues the drive by NewField IT to be at the forefront of the MPS transition.
