With V4.0, documents and files can be easily managed and shared, conveniently combined from multiple file formats to create new documents, edited, annotated, converted to PDF, previewed and printed with enhanced publishing settings, or sent as fax or email attachments all from a personal computer.
Compatible with other Canon solutions, including imageWARE Document Server 2.0 and third-party solutions such as Worldox®, a leading document management system, imageRUNNER ADVANCE Desktop V4.0 flexibly integrates into an organization’s pre-existing workflow. With a new interface, consolidated editing functions and the ability to create customized workflow tabs, imageRUNNER ADVANCE Desktop lets the user personalize the application for the way they want to work. Additionally, imageRUNNER ADVANCE Desktop V4.0 continues to offer Canon’s award winning Quick Printing Tool that has been upgraded to include Optical Character Recognition (OCR) capability and create searchable PDFs with drag ’n drop ease.

imageRUNNER ADVANCE Desktop V4.0 includes Desktop Browser and Desktop Editor applications. The imageRUNNER ADVANCE Desktop Browser has been updated to a more modern look, featuring an intuitive ribbon and tool bar that can be customized to the user’s needs and make available only those tools most commonly used. In addition, customized tabs can be created with groups of functions that provide a customized workflow the user can follow when managing, printing or editing documents. Documents and files can be managed in personal libraries, network libraries or SharePoint™ libraries helping to make document collaboration easy within workgroups. With a powerful search feature, document preview, ability to monitor folders, directly print or send to email, fax or another folder, imageRUNNER ADVANCE Desktop helps users manage documents and workflows right at their desktop.
Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE Desktop Editor
imageRUNNER ADVANCE Desktop Editor has combined four editors of previous Desktop versions into one easy-to-use editor application. With the same upgrade to a modern customizable ribbon and tool bar, Desktop Editor delivers tools for the user to more easily edit, annotate, add digital stamps and signatures, redact information and more all in one interface.
As with the Browser, Editor allows the user to create customized tabs and workflows to make document creation and publishing easier than before. With the Desktop Editor, users can rearrange or delete document pages, combine files from multiple formats to create new documents, build chapters and table of contents and adjust print finishing settings to provide professional printing results1. imageRUNNER ADVANCE Desktop Editor can also handle pages as large as A0* making it even more versatile when printing to large format printers.
Optimized PDF Management
This upgraded software solution also includes several new features for enhanced PDF management. imageRUNNER ADVANCE Desktop V4.0 provides users with a tool to convert documents to PDF before attaching to an email. The Quick Printing Tool (QPT), a desktop widget, provides time-saving drag ’n drop to expediently and directly print files, access and change print settings, fax, convert files to PDF including detail settings to Optical Character Recognition and set passwords for opening, editing and printing restrictions.

imageRUNNER ADVANCE Desktop V4.0 is available from authorized Canon Dealers. Both prospective and current customers can download a 60 day fully functional free trial version of imageRUNNER ADVANCE Desktop from Canon’s imageWARE website at www.imageware.com. Current imageRUNNER ADVANCE Desktop customers who have valid maintenance in effect will be eligible for an upgrade to the latest version at no cost.
