April 30, 2009, Pittsburgh, PA– Océ, an international leader in digital document management, today announced the new Océ PlotWave® 300 system, a monochrome multifunction system that makes it simpler and less time-consuming for users to print, copy and scan low volumes of technical documents. This compact, all-in-one large format system is ideal for businesses looking to save money and space in their document production process. The Océ PlotWave 300 system is on display in the Océ booth #709 at the International Reprographics Association (IRgA) Convention and Trade Show, April 29 – May 1 in Pittsburgh, PA, and in the Océ booth #1657 at the American Institute of Architects (AIA) National Convention, April 30 – May 2 in San Francisco, CA.

Customers looking for ease of use

“This new system addresses the trend to decentralized printing that we are seeing in technical documentation. In such an environment, systems must be easy to use, energy efficient and quiet, instantly ready to print when needed, and able to withstand the workload of multiple users,” said Patrick Chapuis, President Wide Format Printing Systems division of Océ North America. “The Océ PlotWave 300 system, with its simple operation, energy efficiency, and durable design, satisfies all these needs better than any other product in its class.”

The next wave in green technology cuts energy usage in half

Conventional roller-based systems have long warm-up and cool-down periods which waste time and energy. The Océ Plot Wave 300 printer incorporates patented Océ Radiant Fusing technology to provide the most efficient way to fuse toner onto paper. Thin metallic tiles made of a highly durable alloy are used to efficiently radiate heat so they heat up and cool down very quickly. That means the system starts up instantly, uses half the energy of comparable systems, makes no noise when it is idling and requires no extra ventilation to keep it cool. The system also uses a catalytic convertor system so that that virtually no ozone emissions are produced, creating a healthier working environment.

The compact, eco-friendly design of the Océ PlotWave 300 system makes it suitable for businesses with limited space because it does not require extra tables or paper racks. It fits in tiny spaces and does not require ventilation.

The next wave in simplicity offers extra help to users

The system has a USB flash drive that lets users print and scan documents at the system and avoid carrying stacks of plans from one place to another. This feature is ideal for building plans and other documents that are frequently revised. The output delivery tray is positioned on top of the system and uses air separation to prevent paper from curling and falling to the floor. This reduces damaged documents and strain on users. The automated roll changing system automatically loads, cuts and registers the size of the paper, and its loading station eliminates the need for an extra table next to the machine. Scanning originals are fed in face-up, and the width is automatically registered to reduce scanning errors. The scroll and click control panel and smart buttons make it easy for both experienced and new users to walk-up and use the system.

The next wave in durability makes office equipment last longer

The Océ PlotWave 300 system is constructed of solid, hard wearing materials that are designed to make it last longer than comparable systems. Critical components, such as the imaging drum and other moving parts, are completely enclosed to reduce contamination and wear and tear. High use parts, like the paper drawers and panels, are made of reinforced materials to protect them from contact with dust and extend their lifetime. The separate paper paths reduce paper jams and extra wear on the system.
