New Photizo 2009 MPS Tracker Study: 93 Percent of Companies Use MPS Provider

Most also note reduction in carbon footprint as result of MPS programs
November 12, 2009 – Lexington, KY – Almost one half of all Managed Print Services contracts are directly with equipment manufacturers, according to the latest MPS Decision Maker Trackerä study from the Photizo Group. The study also found nearly 95 percent of MPS sites reported a reduction in their carbon footprint as a result of more efficient printing infrastructure and management. These and other findings are documented in the latest installment of the MPS Tracker report, the only ongoing research to survey MPS decision makers across enterprises and countries.

Twice a year, the Photizo research team examines adoption rates, brand awareness, purchase decisions, vendor satisfaction rates, and other key MPS insights. The latest study covers the first half of 2009, and provides the most current analysis of this growing market. Over 200 companies and decision makers were interviewed in North America. (The second half study is currently underway and will be available in January of 2010. It will include 200 companies from North America, and an additional 300 companies from Europe.) The timely, quantifiable data in the wide-ranging report helps channel and vendor professionals gain more insight into MPS end users, their organizations and their decision-making processes.

Since the studies launch in 2008, the MPS Decision Maker Tracking study has surveyed over 1,400 MPS decision makers in North America and Europe. The study provides the richest database of MPS engagements available today. “Our study focuses in on decision makers who are actively involved in MPS engagements, either in terms of currently evaluating vendors, or, already being engaged in an MPS contract. These are unique insights which are not available from other vendors,” said Ed Crowley, CEO and Senior Partner of the Photizo Group.

He added, “Information like this is critical for dealers, vendors and infrastructure providers as they try to grow market share. Understanding the MPS decision maker is a necessary step in successful MPS engagements, and the Tracker Report accelerates the process of learning about these customers. Vendors and dealers may get only one shot at an MPS engagement, so they need to go into the process armed with all the information they can get.”

The MPS Decision Maker Tracking study can be purchased as a standalone report. It is included in the MPS Global Advisory Service, the only comprehensive Market Intelligence service for the Managed Print Services market. Vendors, dealers and enterprises can find out more about this and other Photizo Group services at http://www.managed-print-services.com. “I think we can safely claim the most extensive library for market intelligence and reports in the MPS marketplace,” said Crowley. “If you are in the MPS space, there’s no reason not to be using this material.”
