Xerox Unveils Fast, Affordable Office Color Copier-Printer; WorkCentre M24 Aimed at Small Workgroups

WorkCentre M24 Aimed at Small Workgroups
CHICAGO, Sept. 29, 2003 – Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX) today introduced the WorkCentre® M24, a color-capable office copier-printer ideal for small workgroups.
The WorkCentre M24 combines the convenience of a black-and-white device with the added benefit of color in one fast, easy-to-use office system at a new low price for mid-range color from Xerox.
“For small workgroups, the WorkCentre M24 is an optimal choice because it strikes a balance between functionality and value while producing high-quality color and black-and-white output,” said Rob Stewart, vice president, marketing, Xerox Channels Group. “Today’s office users demand productivity, and Xerox’s WorkCentre M24 delivers convenient, affordable multifunction capability.”
As a single device that meets many office document needs, the Xerox WorkCentre M24 gives people the familiar simplicity of a standard copier plus printing, scanning and faxing functions. With print speeds of 13 pages-per-minute in color and 24 ppm in black-and-white, 768 MB printing memory, a 10 GB hard disk, and a first-page-out time of 4.7 seconds for black-and-white and 10.4 seconds for color, the copier-printer is among the fastest in its class.
In addition, the WorkCentre M24 saves people time with easy-to-access consumables and an “always on” feature that decreases the system’s warm-up time. Additional features that allow for productive operation include one-touch faxing with phone and Internet capability, and scan to e-mail or network.
Using patented Emulsion Aggregation (EA) toner, a Xerox technology that standardizes the size and shape of toner particles, the WorkCentre M24 is capable of uniform printing. With sharp image quality and fine line text that people expect from a high-end color printer, and resolution up to 1200 x 1200 dpi, office workers are able to produce the right prints time after time.
The WorkCentre M24 also handles a broad range of media types and sizes, from card stock and labels to envelopes, business cards and CD/DVD labels. Xerox has a full range of digitally optimized papers and specialty media products engineered in concert with the M24 to enable excellent image quality, superior functionality and maximum uptime.
The WorkCentre M24 starts at a U.S. list price of $11,395 and includes the Xerox Total Satisfaction Guarantee. It is available in the U.S. and Europe on Oct. 1 through the Xerox direct sales force, authorized agents and concessionaires.
