Does anyone have a cheat sheet for putting a wide format digital copier/scanner/printer on a local network? I have scribbled notes on how to share it out, add a TCI/IP port, ect...but it was brutal yesterday during a new install. Tech support got us through, but I'd like to do it next time without their assistance. ps: We are techs who are facing the daunting task of turning into IT guys a little more each day.
Thanks.

Using the internal GW controller, it should install just like any other MFP device, just build a printer and share it out on the network. A few things that may or may not pertain to the install:

Because of the size of wide format files, many prefer to print from each individual workstation to the wide format device, rather than the server spooling the file. The trade off is the wide format device prints slower because the server is not doing the spooling.

The RPCS driver is not really designed to reside on a server, you lose a lot of the functionality of the different tabs on the print driver interface, but it will work.

Lastly, did you run into the infamous "Print Test Page" issue on the 2400? The Windows Printer Test Page is an 8.5 x 11 file. If the 2400/3600 is not set up to use 11 inch paper or default to a cut sheet, you ALWAYS get an error on the 2400/3600. The only way to get rid of this error is to reset the job, which cancels everything. You keep trying this and you are caught in a circle of hell, printing test pages, getting an error, then reset job. The work around is a cut sheet of 36 inch paper, fake out the machine to accept 11 inch rolls or sheets, or don't print the Windows Test Page when setting up the driver.

Sorry I cannot give you any better answers.
