Please help!
I have a client with a small business server.
We have disabled digital signing, however, we still cannot see a shared folder which was created on the server to set up SMB.
The folder has been shared and given complete access by everyone but we still cannot see it.
The user name and password were added to the permissions, but we still can't see it.
What is going on here.
Yes, I am in a panick.
Important client.

Is your folder accessible from the other workstations? Also, are you logging into that folder from the client PC's using the administrator login? If you can access the folder from a client PC, using the Admin login, can you create a file in that folder, then try to delete it? If you can do this then you do have FULL access rights. If you can do all the above, then it seems everything is working.
If you can't it must be setting on the server, double check everything.
If everything works it might be the setup in your copiers SMB settings. Have you set the correct domain/workgroup name in the copier? Such as WORKGROUP, or MSHOME? Please note if on a domain you leave the ".com" part out when entering it the SMB workgroup name. When the correct workgroup name is entered. You should be able to BROWSE the network via the copier. Also check if the IP settings. You need DNS, WINS, SUBNET, and GATEWAY. Without one of these they can limit your ability to scan to folder or even browse. Can you do this? If you can, and still can't locate the server, is it because you just can't locate the server because of the volume of PC's on the domain. You might have to enter the direct name of the server in the enter destination screen BEFORE you browse. Example: The server name is Server01. If so type in \\server01 then hit the browse button. It should take you to that pc directly. Also try the IP of the server. Ex: \\192.168.1.100 then hit browse. If you do finally locate the PC and when you try to login, and it still won't take your user name and password. Try to enter the domain name first the user name. Ex: domain\username
I have seen this happen before. This is the case for Ricoh IS200 scanner, you must enter the domain name before the user name.
Try all those things first. maybe I can still help you.
PS... Sorry about the long drawn out descriptions. Like to be detailed.

Yes,
I can access the folder from workstations and create a file in the folder and delete it.
There is not a workgroup, it is a domain.
The domain has .local after it and is entered correctly under smb settings.
I can browse the network from the copier, but when I try to go into the "Server" where the share folder is located, it tells me that the password is
invalid. But the user and password were created and given rights by the administrator.
The only thing that I can see from your description that it could be is that we might not have entered a gateway and wins.
We tried entering the direct name of the server before we browsed and that did not work.
One thing that is interesting is that I created a shared folder on a desktop and could see it from the copier when I browsed. When I set up the scan location on the copier and tried to send a scan to it, it gave me an error and wouldn't send the scan to it.
That almost makes me think it has something still to do with permissions.
I will try and check everything you have listed here on Monday morning and see what happens.
Thank You for your help.
It is much appreciated.
