Top three points I make when against Kyocera. 

#1. Take them color samples from your device and any Kyocera because the color output is sub par on all units. If you don’t have access to one look in your crm for an account you co-exist with Kyocera in. Or the next time you have a knock out make some samples and keep them in a binder. If color quality is important to the customer it will be a win. Another point is showing them you get what you pay for, meaning 3 tier color is what they have instead of quality color so they must discount it. Isn’t an extra penny per print worth not producing embarrassing color output?

#2. modular units vs. serviceable components. Take a fuser for example. Today’s KYOCERA fusers can’t be serviced, they must be replaced. Say a jam gets bound up in the fuser and the customer breaks a picker finger or nicks the fuser belt. A fuser with serviceable components can be repaired by a technician for less than the replacement cost of the complete unit. Plus the tech will likely have the parts because carrying components is compact and easily managed. Modular units can’t be repaired, they must be replaced for hundreds if not a thousand dollars. In addition to a big price tag, these fusers are packed in big boxes which likely means the tech won’t have the part because he doesn’t drive a service vehicle the size of a UPS truck. Long story short, your likely to pay big bucks for the repair and you’ll need to wait for the tech to come back with a modular replacement unit. (This Comment is even more powerful if you have a copy the other company’s contract and can point out the language that lets them charge for damages) KYOCERA brags about 3 tier color and the competition should point out 2 trip service calls. There modular units are fusers, drums, developers, and transfer units. All the high morality stuff that just breaks and that users often accidentally damage.

#3.the Kyocera display is hard to use. PM me and I can email you a Virtual Kyocera display to demo. I start by saying, pretend your a new user and you need to scan something. See how it is  to navigate the KYOCERA display. Then when they can’t, I ask them to see if the can figure out something simple like duplex and staple. I haven’t found a non KYOCERA user figure it out yet. This is especially powerful if they do mixed size originals or if you can make omit blank pages a desired productivity feature. It is stupid cumbersome on the Kyocera.
