Greetings, creators!

I’m back with lots of content for you to consume. Take a look at these tidbits!

August is right around the corner, so I’m here to help make your content planning a whole lot easier. Below, you’ll find our compilation of social media holidays, upcoming seasonal moments, content ideas, and more.

Remember that content resonates best when it's relatable to your audience, so we encourage you to connect the dots between these ideas and your niche. Pick and choose what fits best with your content strategy. Most importantly, get inspired and start planning for the month ahead.

We will be on the lookout to feature quality posts that speak to each of these topics this upcoming month.

August Content Planning:

  • Book Lovers Day is August 9th. Share your favorite books and love for reading with the hashtag #BookLoversDay
  • National NonProfit Day is August 17th. Contribute to the conversation with a volunteer story featuring a non profit you support. Don’t forget to use #nationalnonprofitday.
  • Hashtag day is August 23rd. Celebrate the birth of a global phenomena using #hashtagday.
  • Women Equality Day is August 26th. Recognize the hurdles women have overcome. Contribute to the conversation #womenequalityday.

Topics that will be trending all month:

  1. Back to School
  2. Black Business Month

Content Ideas for August:

  1. A day in the life video
  2. Share your remote work setup and how it fuels your productivity
  3. Share what you’re reading and what you learned from it with the hashtag #weekendreads
  4. Post behind the scenes footage of how a product/service/event came to life
  5. Post a poll on a popular debate in your industry and explain the rationale behind your choice

I hope this list helped you put your content-thinking caps on. Happy creating!

Q: What’s one thing you should always keep top of mind when creating content?

Adriene Bueno
A: Practice WIIFY = What’s In It For You. Create content however you normally would, then put yourself in your community’s shoes and ask, “Does this content educate, entertain, and/or inspire me?” While not every piece of content needs to do these things, you’ll be surprised how implementing a sentence or two on ‘why XYZ is important’, ‘how to ABC’, ‘what I learned’, etc. will make a big difference in your storytelling and community engagement.
