Somebody else must be seeing this...Our MP4000/5000 machines cannot recieve faxes properly when they are generated through IP servers. The line opens but the comm link takes forever and we recieve each page three times. We have set Fax SP1-104-003 bit2=1 per Ricoh Tech Support. Symptoms remained but only the last page came through. Monitor report shows error code 06-21 after each attempt. All incomming faxes from traditional sources work fine. I am being told Ricoh is aware of the problem and a firmware update may be in the works. I am concerned that nobody has reported this problem on this site, though. Does anyone have any input?

You might think so, but we have at least twenty machines in various locations with exactly the same symptoms. We just yesterday brought one to the shop and reproduced the problem sending test faxes from our Blackberries. This isn't limited to the MP4000-5000 either, we are also getting reports from our field techs they are seeing it from MP2550 and MP2500 series also.

So are you saying that at least 20 locations are using a fax server and they are all having problems.

I am talking about faxes comming IN to our customer's location. If the received fax was generated by say, my Blackberry device, we will see these symptoms. But if I send them a fax from one of our machines through a standard phone line, no problem. Other stand alone faxes at the same location have no problems either. If we send a fax from a computer workstation...same problem.
Problem is when the received fax was sent FROM a fax server.
