I put a MLP36n with 2 feed units, and an envelope feed unit in an insurance company that has a mix of Windows XP and Windows 2000 systems. The server is also Windows 2000. The drivers that came with the printer were the Lanier version. The IT guy loaded the drivers, and set the second tray as the envelope tray. He loaded both the PCL5e and the RPCS drivers. The customer wanted the Com10 envelope setting for all envelopes coming out of tray 2. We set the envelope setting on the printer to tray 2, and no.10 envelopes.
Now comes the fun part...When we try to print an envelope from Word, the printer comes up and asks for 4.18 x 9.5 paper. Even though the print setting are set correctly on both the server, and the printer, the setting is not saved.
Has anyone seen any driver patches or issues that might give me a solution to this problem?

I tried all these tricks to get the software to recognize the envelope tray, but to no avail. There is a glitch between the software and the printer. Ricoh's suggestion was to bypass the envelope wizard, and have customer type out addresses in Word, and then print to the envelope. You know as well as I do that if a customer can't go to the wizard, their not going to do the extra steps to print to an envelope, they'll just go to another printer.
We ended up having to pick up the printer and refund their money. They went and bought another HP that they knew would feed the envelopes.
Until Ricoh comes out with software that will talk to the printer, this boy won't be selling envelope feeders, unless it is a GelSprinter.
