MFPs Target Midsize to High-volume Environments
TRUMBULL, Conn.—July 10, 2006—Oce Imagistics Inc. has introduced the im5530/im6030 and the im7230/im8530 multi-function peripherals. With Speeds range from 55 to 85 pages per minute. The im5530/im6030 devices suit midsize workgroups requiring advanced connectivity, security, scanning, fax and finishing, according to a company announcement. Features include scanning to multiple destinations, booklet-making and duplexing, available via touch-screen display.
The im7230/im8530 devices target high-volume departments and light production areas. They can create complex jobs with custom print settings and finishing attributes, the announcement said.
“A key element of our growth strategy is the aggressive roll out of new products this year,” said Joseph D. Skrzypczak, president and chief executive at Oce Imagistics, in the announcement. “The introduction of the im5530/im6030 and im7230/im8530 MFPs marks 18 new MFPs launched in 2006, including five Oce VarioPrint products.”
The im5530/im6030 devices can be configured for print, scan and fax, as well as wireless communications via the Wireless LAN adapter. Enhanced one-touch scanning, with added LDAP version 3 support, allows the user to scan to multiple destinations such as e-mail, an internal HDD, FTP site or to the desktop.
The im7230/im8530 can deliver 600,000 impressions a month, the announcement said. Toner yield is 60,100 pages. Finishing capabilities include 100-sheet stapling, two- and three-hole punching or tab insertion.
Both MFPs provide several layers of security. Data encryption, network authentication, and HDD overwrite safeguard critical data and assure authorized use, the announcement said. The devices maintain protection for emailed documents using SMTP authentication and LDAP support so that senders of scanned e-mail documents are known to the recipient. In addition, the devices can authenticate 10,000 users and 1,000 departments via local account codes.
The im5530/im6030 and the im7230/im8530 MFPs are currently available.
