Mac printing without Postscript on MP 7001 & MP C3001

One of the schools I work with just rolled out some Mac computers and needs to their MP 7001s and MP C3001s but does not have Postscript installed. I gave him the price on Postscript chips for each model, but we all know how ridiculous Ricoh's prices are on the high-speed units. Does anyone know of a workaround for printing from Macs without the PS3 chip installed? He is also using FollowMe from Ringdale, so I'm not sure if there's some workaround using that software.

I would offer a used ps chip. Have done this in the past. They work fine.

Have you tried the generic PCL driver that is built into Mac's operating system? Just set it up as an IP printer and select "Generic PCL" from the driver drop down. It works with every Ricoh I've tried.

I wish I could do that, but they're printing through PaperCut on the server for tracking and rules. Good idea, though.

I know this is late but we get psc's from a third party vendor for around $300. Older equipment like the 01 models are pretty easy to find. looking for an 03 is asking for trouble though.

Greater Phillidelphia, 215-788-7111, our contacts name is Glen. They are a wholesaler of lease return equipment. No they arent new but he does take the time to reprogram them for a different machine. He can even order the little post script sticker if you need it. You will find that most of the wholsalers out there (and there are alot) will sell you that type of stuff but glen has always done a good job for us. i cant recall having a problem with anything weve gotten but if we did im sure he would make it right.
