I have a customer who is having a problem producing a booklet on a Savin MP C3004ex. When the booklet is printed from a Windows PC it comes out fine using magazine mode.

When printed from a Mac, we cannot get the same result, either using the application (Adobe Reader or Foxit PDF Reader) for layout purposes or the print driver. The document is either reduced or not centered. I have also tested on an HP MFP and received the same results.

I just can't believe I have to tell the customer, "yeah, it's a Mac issue and it doesn't matter what device you print it on."

Where are the Mac gurus? Can anyone help with this?

There are a bunch of variables in producing a booklet on any platform.  But in general, the document should be single pages, in numerical order in the application.  I am assuming this is a PDF in Acrobat Reader.  Also, are the pages sized to fit the finished page size?  If the pages are 8.5x11 in the app, but you want to print on a folded 11x17 page, then they will be full sized.  If you want to print on 8.5x11 folded page, (statement sized booklet) you would need to reduce the image.  I will assume this is the case.

The best way to print this as a booklet on a Mac is to use the Booklet setting in Acrobat.  (see attached screenshot)  Then in the print driver, all you need to select is "Staple, 2 at Center".  The application already is set for booklet page order and reduction and page centering.  You would need to select the paper size of the booklet, 8.5x11 landscape in this case, in the printer driver.

Good luck!
