The KMA 4850w was a fantastic product, well ahead of it's time.

KMA's dismal support of their wide format product line lead to it's demise, but had they any sense they could've owned the market. Their enept marketing of this very customer focused solution caused it's demise as Ricoh, Kip and later XES (6204) capitalized on the time KMA gave them (about 2-3 years) to get a single footprint, 600 dpi wide format system to market.

To add salt to the wound,KMA then got in bed with Kip to capitalize on the success of the Kip 3000. Problem is, KMA proceeded to remove (maybe this was Kip's idea) the much touted Kip 3000 touch screen and the the very user friendly software in favor of a bulky, difficult to master KMA software version within it's own controller. The 3650w is a doomed effort, I would never invest in one.

KMA, Japanese developers did a hell of a job hitting on most of the endusers needs in developing te 4850w, it's a shame their US organization could never get their arms around how to market it. They could've owned the low volume market in the US, no question about it!
