Kyocera Mita India, a subsidiary of USD 12 billion Japanese Kyocera Group, on Tuesday announced the acquisition of the copier division of Kilburn Office Automation (KOAL) for an undisclosed amount.



"The acquisition of Kilburn is an important foundation to achieve Kyocera's aim to become top group in India's printers and multi-functional printers industry," Kyocera Mita Asia President M Higuchi said in statement.



The acquisition is part of the firm's plan to triple sales by March 2014 (FY-2013) in China, India, Korea and ASEAN countries. Among them, India's role is essential to success, he said.



While Kyocera makes printers, KOAL has presence in various market segments including document management product solutions and other IT-enabled services.



Kyocera said the acquisition will enable it to provide state-of-the-art products and document solutions to Indian customers, corporate as well as in government, much faster
