The new TASKalfa range of A4 multifunction printers (MFP) from KYOCERA have been packed with increased paper handling and finishing features that, combined with their print capabilities, place them firmly in the larger format category.

The 406ci, 356ci and 306ci models have up to 3100 sheet paper tray capacity, double sided printing, scanning, copying and faxing, and full finishing options which make them suitable for small to large workgroups who may have previously used a colour A3 MFP for the its functionality, yet primarily print A4.

These new devices are part of KYOCERA ongoing line of products aimed at allowing end users to simply digitise workflows. The new models have respective print speeds of 40ppm, 35ppm and 30ppm and come with up to 1200 dpi for the best quality document output. The new devices can be configured to the needs of the department, from space saving desktop models to five-tray floor-standing workgroup colour MFPs.

“The new products are ideal for organisations such as schools, who can have tight budgets that mean they print exclusively in A4, despite needing advanced finishing options,” said Nigel Allen, marketing director, KYOCERA Document Solutions UK and Ireland. “They allow documents to be transformed into digital files that are stored, edited and shared, but don’t compromise on superior output management. From A6 up to 1220mm banner sizes can be managed by these fully loaded products. They are ideal for customers who want reduced upfront outlay and low running costs.”

All three machines, says KYOCERA, can be easily integrated into existing workflows and tailored to meet the specific needs of an organisation by using the company’s open software platform HyPAS. Combining Java and web services technology, HyPAS can transform these MFPs into a business tool that goes beyond the traditional functions of a normal MFP, improving security and usability easily from the control panel.

KYOCERA said that it has optimised the new A4 MFP design to give high performance in environments where document output and finishing are key, which until now would have required investment in an A3 device. There is no compromise on security or mobile printing capability, assures the maker, which, coupled with reduced downtime, means businesses will quickly start to see saving from investing in these devices.
