Konica Minolta's bizhub PRO C6000 is Printer of the Year 2011

The European Digital Press Association (EDP) has made its choice. The light production bizhub PRO C6000 printer has won the award for the Best Production Cut-Sheet Colour Printer of 2011.

Speed, simple programming and high print resolution are what distinguish the device from the competition. Another criterion is size. The bizhub's small footprint means 'near to offset' quality is available to in-house reprographic departments (CRDs) and the graphic arts market.

“We are delighted to hear that the bizhub PRO C6000 is EDP's Printer of the Year 2011,” says Leon Minnie, production systems product specialist at Konica Minolta South Africa. “The award is a unique accolade, because EDP is an association consisting of some of the most renowned digital print magazines in Europe. Only the very best products are considered.”

The bizhub PRO C6000 is targeted at CRDs, print providers, high-volume offices and professionals in advertising agencies. The system offers a print resolution of 1 200 x 1 200 dpi with 8-bit colours. Up to 60 colour pages per minute can be printed. Additional features include the ability to handle paper up to 300gsm and a wide range of in-line finishing capabilities such as stapling or punching. Finally, the award-winning bizhub has a small footprint, offers simple programming, and delivers near to offset quality.

“The needs of the creative industry were what guided us when we developed the bizhub PRO C6000,” Minnie says. “It delivers the highest possible print quality while keeping system size and price as small and low as possible.”
