In a significant development, Konica Minolta Business Solutions has restructured its senior management with the creation of a new leadership team following a series of major board level appointments. Following an intense period of recruitment, Konica Minolta now has a high-calibre leadership team drawn from every sector of industry, with excellence being the overriding selection criterion.
Commenting on the new Konica Minolta leadership team, Yuki Kobayashi, MD said: "Our channel partners are a key strategic route to market for our business and critical to our development plans. Konica Minolta is not just a hardware supplier, but a provider of full bespoke optimised end-to-end print and document management solutions, giving our channel partners a clear marketing differentiator for their customers.
"I am confident that we now have the right team in place to take our business forward as a leader in the UK document imaging market, whilst supporting our channel partners grow their own businesses."
Mark Lloyd, director of channel sales, comments: "Our strategy is to support our channel partners by developing programmes that add value to their already successful businesses. As one of the few vendors that enable partners to supply entry level multi-functional output devices through to high volume production print solutions, we are developing tools that will enable them to compete in the growing optimised print and document management market".
In key management roles for the company are:
• Yuki Kobayashi, MD
Kobayashi joined Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) in 2007, following senior positions held at Konica Minolta corporate headquarters in Japan and the United States, mainly related to communication and investor relations.

• Neil Dingley, operations director and company secretary
Dingley reports directly to Kobayashi as head of the leadership team. He joined Konica Minolta in 2007 having held European and UK Board positions in multi-national corporations such as Dow Chemicals and Sony.

• Jonathan Millbank, director of sales
Millbank brings a wealth of experience in key leadership roles and extensive experience in the document imaging industry with companies such as eCopy and Nuance. In his sales leadership role with Konica Minolta, Millbank oversees all UK sales operations, both direct and channel.
• Mark Lloyd, director of channel sales
Lloyd has been with us for almost 12 years and was previously managing director of Konica Minolta Printing Solutions (UK) Ltd. Prior joining Konica Minolta he spent 11 years in the IT industry.
• Martin Tierney, director of service
Tierney has 25 years industry experience with previous service management roles in the document imaging industry. Having built 10 years channel experience, His expertise is in building strategic service provisions and is pivotal in the delivery of Konica Minolta's Optimised Print and Document Management Services.
• Richard Buitenhek, director of marketing
Buitenhek has joined Konica Minolta following a career in high-level strategic marketing in the automotive and petro-chemical industries. Buitenhek is responsible for communicating Konica Minolta's strategic vision as a provider of managed print services and solutions.
• Eric Green, director of finance and IT
Green has a wealth of experience in high level management roles as finance director and managing director in other businesses such as Marconi.
• Merri Applegate, director of HR and corporate services
Applegate heads Konica Minolta's Human Resources and People Development function and has 15 years' experience in HR best practice techniques. Previously working in a range of blue-chip organisations, Applegate's expertise supports Konica Minolta's strategic objective to build a world-class people organisation.
• James Goody, director of commercial and public sector sales
Goody leads Konica Minolta's public sector and commercial sales teams and has 15 years B2B and solutions sales expertise in the consumer electronics sector. He leads Konica Minolta's drive into the commercial and public sector managed print services market.
