The reviews on the Ricoh are just aas good!

Find out what the customer is looking for the wide format to do besides copy.

Look for key features where 2400WD will excel:

12x18 paper tray
Easy Scan2Folder (no KIP Request)
RPCS Driver is great is only printing pdf's and tiffs, maybe combine a 5 user license of e-copy for markups.
The ability to stack originals for scanning (Kip has to be done at a time)
Two Paper Output sources for Ricoh (One for KIP)

Dig a little deeper for their needs and find a lock out feature.

Thanks for the input. Sorry if these questions are a bit out in left field. Wideformat isn't my specialty.

What do you mean by (no KIP request) under Scan2Folder? Isn't the 2400wd TWAIN only with Plotbase?

What do you mean by the ability to stack originals for scanning?

Are these features available on the 2400wd or only the 2404?

I appreciate your help.
KIP request is used for scanning. You scan from the KIP and send to internal mailbox (you can't name the file), from there you must go to your pc and then look for the file in the KIP requestion folder that (I think) resides on the KIP. If alot of scanning has been done you must then sort through files and find yours. You have the option of using embedded scanning with the 2400W, which gives you scan2folder, scan2email from the useer control panel, just like our MFP's.

Stacking Scans: One of the best features of the either 2400WD or 2404 is that you can remove the top extra trays, pull the machine away from the wall and extend the rear paper quides. Now you have the ability to scan upto 20 -30 pages with out removing the originals. This can't be done with the KIP, once you scan a page you must remove it and then feed the next original (a real drag).

Hope this helps
