TRUMBULL, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 8, 2003-- Imagistics International Inc. (NYSE: IGI - News) introduces the im6530/im8130 multifunctional printer/copiers with advanced network scanning capabilities. "Despite today's sophisticated electronic communications, there will always be a requirement for print production," said Nat Gifford, Imagistics' Vice President of Product Development and Marketing. "The im6530/im8130 are multipurpose high-volume networked systems, offering the versatility of printing at up to 2400 dpi with professional finishing capabilities, plus the convenience of walk-up copying and network scanning."

The im6530 is a 65-page-per-minute system with a maximum monthly volume of 460,000 impressions. The im8130 is an 81-page-per-minute system with a maximum monthly volume of 500,000 impressions.

The im6530/im8130 meet customer needs by offering true multifunctionality as standard. Print-ready immediately upon installation, the im6530/im8130 represent the new paradigm in digital office equipment solutions--one in which everything the customer needs to execute all daily communication tasks is embedded within a single device at a highly competitive price.

By consolidating functionality into one networked device, departments can lower overall operational costs, while providing enhanced capabilities to employees from their workstations. For example, users can create professionally finished reports with the im6530/im8130 duplexing and booklet making functionality. "We expect that with their sophisticated print, copy and scanning capabilities, the im6530/im8130 will become integral to a department's everyday workflow," furthered Gifford.

"Our objective is to become the premier choice for digital MFPs in the high-volume corporate market. We're going to do that by offering greater performance and greater value, than any other alternative on the market," stated Gifford. "Unbeatable performance, tied to our national direct sales and service organization is what's going to get us there."

As testament, the new im6530/im8130 offer a robust feature set that outshines other devices. Gifford cites the following advantages over competitive solutions:

A 566MHz CPU for faster processing of every job.
256MB RAM to pull entire jobs off the network and eliminate bottlenecks.
The print controller's 20GB hard disk drive is ready to meet customer needs for simple document storage/retrieval, and print-on-demand functionality.
Scan-to E-mail, Scan-to File, Scan-to FTP, Scan-to I-fax, Scan-to Mailbox, Scan-to Print and Ad-hoc Scanning are standard features. Electronic document distribution speeds communication inside and outside the LAN, and delivers tremendous cost savings by sending information over established network data lines rather than the public telephone network with its per-call charges.
Lightweight Directory Address Protocol (LDAP) support ties the updating of company E-mail address books to those that appear in the systems' LCD panel.
Filters to print from the many versions of UNIX®including IBM (R), Sun®, HP®, and Linux®. Optional A/S400® support is also available.
The im6530/im8130 multifunction printer/copiers are available in two finishing configurations, a Stapling and Booklet version. Each configuration provides standard parallel and 10/100BaseT Ethernet connectivity, a 100-sheet Reversing Automatic Document Feeder, a 3,600-sheet (upgradable to 7,600 sheets) paper supply, and full duplex capabilities. The Stapling configuration features a 2,000-sheet Multi-position Finisher with Hole Punching. The Booklet configuration adds Saddle-stitch finishing for booklet production up to 15 sheets (60 page documents). An optional Post-process Inserter is available to collate pre-printed documents on stocks up to 140 lb. Index into job streams.

The im6530/im8130 are available immediately with a suggested retail price of $29,129/$42,829 (Stapling configuration). Flexible financing options are also available. For more information, call 1-800-290-7860 or visit the company Web site at www.imagistics.com.
