Imagistics Introduces ix3010 MFP Solution

Imagistics International Inc. IGI today announced the introduction of the new ix3010 MFP, a 17 pages per minute (ppm) digital document delivery solution designed to meet the needs of companies that require a cost effective centralized device to streamline business workflow and minimize support requirements.
The ix3010 MPF is designed to handle all of a workgroup's printing, scanning, copying, and faxing needs up to 10,000 pages per month.
"In the ix3010 MPF, we've bundled all the necessary functionality to support everyday business tasks into a single, compact device. We've been able to bring per-page costs under the 1.5(cents) threshold, making the ix3010 MPF one of the most affordable Segment 1 MFP devices on the market today," said Nathaniel M. ix3010 MFP as a Printer
The ix3010 MFP delivers functionality not included in standard print devices. In both standalone and networked environments, customers have the ability to sort and stack up to 99 printed sets, perform 50% - 200% reduction and enlargement, and select paper sources. With 600-dpi output at 17 pages per minute the ix3010 MPF keeps busy workgroups moving. Operating in Windows(R) XP/2000/Me/NT 4.0/98/95 environments with standard support for PCL6/5e and HP GL2, the ix3010 MPF is a cost-effective alternative to current printer configurations. "Add a Network Interface Card, and the ix3010 MPF can accept print jobs from multiple connected users over 10/100BaseT Ethernet networks," noted Gifford. "By driving all print volumes to a single unit, customers will realize tremendous cost savings through the system's extremely low cost-per-page." Imagistics expects to make a PostScript option available shortly after launch.
ix3010 MFP as a Scanner
The ix3010 MPF is designed to support today's fastest growing business application: scanning. "Now users can easily digitize documents or capture graphics that enter the workflow in hardcopy form, incorporate them into new documents, archive, or distribute them as needed," said Gifford. Originals as large as 8.5" x 14" can be placed on the platen glass or fed via the standard 50-sheet Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) for scanning at 400- or 600-dpi. TWAIN compatible, the ix3010 MFP scans text documents as fast as 26 pages per minute and saves them in industry standard TIFF file format for easy access and fast distribution over the network.
ix3010 MFP as a Copier
The ix3010 MFP provides copy size up to 8.5" x 14", and delivers outstanding image quality at 600-dpi with 256-level grayscale support. "This system is extremely quiet and places all copying features within easy reach of every user; there are no sacrifices here," stated Gifford. In addition to the 50-sheet ADF, the ix3010 MFP features a standard 500-sheet Letter/Legal paper cassette and 50-sheet Bypass. An optional 500-sheet cassette increases paper capacity to 1,050 sheets. Its standard complement of 8MB memory (expandable to 32MB) allows for a host of digital image manipulation features including 50% - 200% zoom in 1% increments, electronic sorting, 4 in 1 copy mode, and a 10-job program memory to reduce lines at the copier.
ix3010 MFP as a Fax
Standard Super G3 faxing at 33.6 Kbps rounds out the ix3010 MFP's robust feature set. "Leveraging the system's scanning and copying hardware, the ix3010 MFP can save customers significant time, effort, and cost with respect to faxing," concluded Gifford. "With transmission times under three seconds per page, a second line option, and support for sub-addressing for routing faxes to intended recipients, we expect the ix3010 MPF's faxing capability to be well received by our target customers." The 50-sheet ADF, fast scanning speeds of 1.7 seconds per page, JBIG compression, and up to 200 auto dial numbers expedite faxing tasks from start to finish. A wide range of broadcasting and batch transmission features save time and lower costs. An Internet faxing option, enabling customers to further drive down fax costs by using existing data network lines to send and receive faxes at virtually no cost, will be available shortly after introduction.
