The new imageRUNNER C5068/C5058 models deliver impressive, high-volume, black-and-white letter-sized performance at speeds of up to 68 and 58 pages-per-minute (ppm), respectively, and color letter-sized output when needed at up to 16 ppm. The new imageRUNNER 5050 model, which uses the same robust and reliable design as the imageRUNNER 5075/5065/5055, expands upon Canon’s rich black-and-white heritage to deliver an affordable everyday printing and copying solution at up to 50 ppm. The new imageRUNNER models are powered by Canon’s proprietary imageCHIP (Concurrent Hyper Intelligent Platform) System Architecture for fast multifunction processing and full concurrency, helping to maximizing productivity in high-volume environments.
“These new Canon imageRUNNER models are truly the best of both worlds, offering organizations impressive black-and-white productivity and innovative ways to control usage of high-quality occasional color output to minimize expenses - all for the price of typical monochrome devices,” said Sam Yoshida, vice president and general manager, Enterprise Systems Division, Canon U.S.A., Inc. “Based on our extensive experience in Corporate America, we recognize that every environment is unique. With the new imageRUNNER models, organizations can choose the monochrome or color-enabled device that best meets their growing needs for quality documents that stand out and make an impression.”
The imageRUNNER C5068/C5058 come standard with color scanning, copying and sending features and optional color network printing capabilities. These new models’ dual processor design, 1.5GB of RAM and 80GB hard disk drive provide the resources need to handle high-volume multitasking workflows at rated speeds in black-and-white and color. The color-enabled imageRUNNER devices scan letter-sized documents at up to 70 images-per-minute (ipm) at 300 dots-per-inch (dpi).
Canon’s Color Universal Send feature comes standard, allowing organizations to use these new imageRUNNER models as a communications hub, enabling the simultaneous sending of scanned color documents to multiple recipients at the touch of a button.
The new imageRUNNER C5068/C5058 models incorporate Canon’s Multifunctional Embedded Application Platform (MEAP) technology and support Microsoft Windows Vista environments. The imageRUNNER C5068/C5058 modes can be configured with an optional print controller that enables the device to serve as a network printer. The embedded controller supports PCL 5C/6 and Canon’s proprietary UFR II (Ultra Fast Rendering) technology for exceptional printing performance, as well as option for PostScript3 emulation.
With powerful productivity enhancing features and flexible finishing options, the imageRUNNER 5050 provides workgroups with all of the resources they need to produce quality black-and-white output consistently and efficiently. This new monochrome imageRUNNER model is ready out of the box to scan and copy high-volume single and double-sided documents with its standard 100-sheet Duplexing Automatic Document Feeder and optional network printing, Universal Send, and faxing capabilities. With a standard 4,150-sheet paper supply of up to 11 X 17-inches, simultaneous small and large jobs can be easily accomplished.
The new imageRUNNER 5050 device delivers a number of advanced finishing options to meet every application and budget. Canon offers two advanced finishers – Finisher and Saddle Finisher - with a total of 4,000-sheet stacking capacity designed specifically for large offices and light production environments. Both finishers can be configured with a choice of options, including offset and rotate sort, corner, double and saddle staple, hole punch, cover insertion and C/Z folding, to bring professional document capabilities in-house.
The imageRUNNER C5068/C5058 and the imageRUNNER 5050 models will be available through Canon authorized dealers and Canon Business Solutions at a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $22,000, $17,600 and $15,500, respectively.
