Well, I just thought I would let the group know what is happening to the Ikon location here. They used to be the King in this area, not any more. Of the 70+ new placements I have had this year, over half have come from their base. 4 years ago they had 14 techs. As of two weeks ago they are down to 7. I found out yesterday that one more quit and went to the Gestetner dealer here. Also, their 2nd "best" sales rep of over 10 years was just put on probation last week for being below quota. He also quit yesterday and went to the Gestetner dealer. (I guess he thinks that if he couldn't beat me selling Ricoh and Canon, he'll be able to selling Gestetner...Right.) I owe a ton of my good fortune in being able to sell solutions while they sell boxes to this site. The rest of my thanks goes to the Lord. I'm sure that all of us have similar stories and can track some of our success back to this site. I know I have had an impact on Ikon's base. I have only lost 2 deals to them all year in head to head competeition. And those two were all ready in their base. No real gain for them. Keep up all the questions and answers regardless of how trivial you think it is. Someone out there can use the info now or later.

P.S. Remember- GO VOTE TODAY.

I can relate. Ikon still has some big accounts in my area however they are getting beat more and more. I was cold calling in the Ikon building a few months ago. They ae on the 10th floor. The whole building was Canon (Ikon). Not anymore, I sold a 1045 loaded and a AP206 loaded to the business on the 8th floor. I ran into Ikon reps and techs several times in the elevator it was great!!! I was told the GM was not happy with me. Can say I have only lost 1 out of about 20 to Ikon this year.

John
