NORWALK, Conn. – With two Xerox CiPress® 500 Production Inkjet Systems in place, Intelligent Document Solutions (IDS.com) and KGM are improving business operations and producing more impactful marketing applications for their clients.

Both companies are using the system’s patented waterless inks on low cost, offset uncoated paper – an economical way to produce high volumes of transactional and transpromotional pieces.

IDS.com, a leader in secure print and electronic statement production, views the CiPress as a competitive advantage by streamlining its production operations. Cost savings and productivity gains have been achieved by eliminating pre-printed shells with plain roll white paper. Turnaround times have improved and warehouse space has decreased, creating the transformation IDS.com intended with the two systems.

“The CiPress is the powerhouse of high-speed color production we needed to renovate our operations,” William Hayden, CEO, IDS.com. “The presses will ensure our position as an industry leader and help us outpace the competition as we move into the future.”

According to Wendy Lokken, president, IDS.com, the system’s color quality, speed and diverse capabilities has opened up new opportunities in vertical markets. “With the ability to expand our capacity, we are well-positioned to increase revenues.”

Sweden-based KGM, one of the largest fulfillment companies in Europe, relies on the CiPress to drive even greater productivity and scalability for the millions of applications printed for financial services, insurance and telecom clients.

“We are investing aggressively to gain market share while maintaining profitability. Installing a second CiPress allows us to keep the momentum achieved with the first device,” said GÖran LÖnndahl, CEO, KGM.

With the presses, KGM is moving clients away from static pre-printed stock to a mix of electronic and printed communication. Client Swedbank Robur, for example, caters to a large population of multigenerational customers. In response, KGM creates financial documents accessible online or turns to the CiPress to produce printed materials enhanced with colorful images and graphics.

The environmentally-focused bank, as well as many of KGM’s clients, appreciates the system’s patented, resin-based ink formulation that makes paper recycling easier. Xerox has the only high-speed inkjet device to be certified de-inkable by INGEDE on plain papers.

“Customers with multiple installs – now up to five – are a true testament that CiPress is gaining traction in the market as it delivers impressive outcomes,” said Dustin Graupman, vice president, Inkjet Business, Xerox. “It also reaffirms the value proposition that an exclusively plain paper solution like CiPress works and the advantages of color consistency derived from solid ink, from one substrate to the next, one run to the next, maximizes our customers’ ability to stay up and running.”
