Dean,

Unless you plan on selling very high volumes, the best way for HP is to go through the major IT disties (Tech Data, Synnex, Ingram).  Its a pretty straightforward authorization process compared to adding a copier brand, but not as easy as it used to.  The disties can likely point you to the right people at HP to get you started.

Dean, after a very long process of phone calls and paperwork of becoming HP certified dealer we still buy our HP stuff from tech data or even staples/Office Depot. We have found on pretty much every deal that the customer knows they can go online and buy it, and they are ok with that, so we typically find the best price from any source and go that route. Sometimes tech data or Ingram micro are the best price, sometimes staples is better with discounts and free shipping.

Also, there is nothing beneficial to becomings an "hp dealer" other than using the logo for marketing. There is no discounts, no support, or anything From what I've seen. It's basically the same as busing from staples except people do periodically call because we have the HP logo on our website, facebook, etc.
