HP's Touted Edgeline MFP's "Ready to Rock"?
Information sure has been limited prior to the US launch of HP's CM8050 and CM8060, however isn't the Internet fantastic? I was able to download a brochure on the CM8050/8060 from HP's site in Singapore.

Truly, State of the Art Technology from HP......when it comes to ink technology! HP is claiming speeds of 71ppm for the 8060 and 57 ppm for the 8050. One phrase that always concerns ..... go here for rest of article my blog
I'm actually trained on these products. It's about two weeks of my life I will never get back. It's 750 pounds of cast aluminum. It's not easy to move. It comes in a wooden "tuff shed". Special shipping kits are required to move the machine without damaging the print heads. It's a variable speed copier. It can do anywhere from 10 to 71 copies a minutes depending on paper, coverage and humidity. It uses two windows based computers to run it. It's about a 3-4 minute "boot" time to warm up. Copy quality is so-so, not as good as xerographic.
The ink cartidges are the same as the cartidges used on a wide format HP ink jet machine.
They have "radio chips" that tell the machine if it's genuine HP or another brand. The control panel uses a windows based tablet PC to run the op panel. It has some very good built in diagnostic tools for the tech. You can hook your laptop up to it and using HP's CDFT, copier diagnostic field tool you can run motors and check component locations. It even has the service manual built into the machine. I think this copier could do well in a school or church enviroment. The copy quality is better than a Riso but not as good as a xerographic color box. The finisher doesn't have a booklet or trifold option. That a big minus for that market. There's a lot of excitement about the product. I guess HP will spend a bit of money to market it....that gets sales people excited about it. If the public buys the marketing it could be a good seller for HP. I work on Ricoh and Konica Minolta boxes and I'm just not too thrilled about the copy quality and options. Any questions please ask.
