HP Unveils New Document Management Solutions and Green IT Action Plan for Enterprise Customers

ORLANDO, Nov.19, 2008 – HP today announced three new imaging and printing solutions and the Green IT Action plan, a step-by-step guide to help customers develop a plan to reduce the environmental impact of printing and imaging. The new solutions and the Green IT Action Plan expand HP’s portfolio of solutions to addresses the document management and sustainability needs of enterprise customers.
The new solutions were introduced at the company’s annual customer and partner conference, ImagePrint 2008, an exclusive event where attendees learn best practices and key insights from partners, HP executives and leading experts in the industry.
“More than ever our customers are looking for new ways to save time and money while still meeting their business objectives. Through expanding our solutions portfolio, we aim to help them achieve these goals,” said Bruce Dahlgren, senior vice president, Worldwide Sales and Services, Imaging and Printing Group, HP. “HP is dedicated to providing the most comprehensive portfolio of products, software, services and solutions that help customers streamline business processes and manage their imaging and printing environments.”
Specialized solutions streamline information workflows and reduce costs
New solutions to improve workflow help customers gain control of the flow of business documents and information within and across the organization.
Being announced today are the HP and Perceptive Software Capture and Workflow Solutions, which enable customers to capture and organize all types of documents then retrieve a specific page instantly from a wide variety of standard as well as custom enterprise business applications. Perceptive’s ImageNow Interact for HP connects HP multifunction printers (MFPs) to ImageNow’s workflow, expanding the functionality of the MFP to make stored documents available from any location. Using the solution, customers can scan and index documents from geographically dispersed locations and insert them directly into workflow, which results in faster processing, improved information access and better decision making.
Also announced today, the HP and ReadSoft Automated Invoice Processing Solution transforms paper-based workflows into a seamless electronic process. This allows for finance and administration teams to interpret, validate and verify information contained in printed invoices. Using HP MFPs, scanners, services, and ReadSoft technology, the solution automates invoice processing and distribution across an entire organization. This solution provides customers with substantial savings in both cost and time to process invoices while also providing financial visibility for regulatory compliance needs.
Additionally, the HP Automated Invoice Processing Solution for Manufacturing captures invoice data for manufacturers at remote locations using HP MFPs and rapidly interprets, verifies and approves the information electronically. The solution facilitates rigorous records management, compliance and risk reduction, creating fully digital documents that can be processed in days rather than weeks. It is ideal for manufacturers looking to reduce labor, document storage, shipping, and courier costs.
These solutions are available now in North America and Western Europe.
HP Bolsters Eco Solutions Program
HP is also announcing the availability of the Green IT action plan for printing and imaging, a step-by-step guide from HP that helps customers evaluate their current imaging and printing infrastructure and implement a strategy to manage and reduce their company’s environmental impact. By using the guide, customers can assess their organization’s current imaging and printing environment and user attitudes, establish green procurement guidelines, gain organizational commitment and develop an action plan to achieve environmental responsibility within budget. The Green IT action plan is part of the HP Eco Solutions program, which helps customers identify HP initiatives, products and services designed with the environment in mind.
