Under PPDM/PDF Converter Module 7/PDF Create Assistant. Go to the Profiles button, and select PDF/A as the "Compatible With" drop down. Save this as a new Profile. Then you can browse for basically any file type, and convert to PDF/A. If you hit the Saving button, you can select the destination file location.

Here's something that might help someone keep from wasting a day like I did. I installed PPDM on a brand new Windows 7 64-bit with MSOffice Professional Plus 2010.

Upon launching the Batch Manager in Omnipage 17 or whatever it is called for PPDM I would receive and error to the effect that there was no default mail client set up...this caused the program to hang and did not allow me to create the batch process I wanted to set up to scan a PDF and turn it into a Word document and a searchable PDF.

I tried uninstalling PPDM, uninstalling Office, I even reinstalled the OS to no avail. Tech support suggested reinstalling PPDM. Finally, I contacted Nuance. Attached is the solution. Hope it saves some frustration.
