Hardcopy OEMs reduce workforce
Nikkei News reports that that for office-equipment vendors, the pandemic wiped out some 16,000 jobs in the industry
o “Five leading office-equipment makers, including Ricoh and Canon, cut their
payrolls by about 16,000 between January and September (2020), mostly
overseas, as demand for their products slumped due to the coronavirus
pandemic.”
- Xerox continues to reduce or outsource its workforce
o According to Macrotrends, Xerox’s workforce in 2019 was 27,000, and was
24,700 in 2020
- Macrotrends is reporting that HP Inc. also reduced its workforce, from 56,000 in 2019, to 53,000 in 2020.
