Graham,

Sorry this doesn't answer your question about equipment return. But concerning GE:

What has changed with them in the past year or so?

Customer service is non-existent and we recently found out that they are contacting our customers and recommending that they buy out of their lease!!! We only found out after the deal was done. Are they in some kind of financial turmoil? Or have they just lost their minds?

We will not be using them anymore even if there rates are well below other companies (which they really are not).

Keep an eye on these guys, they're up to no good!!!
I have not heard of GE calling any of my customers but one thing that is new is that when we request end of term upgrade and buyout info that they no longer give our dealership a break on upgrade to return. The least expensive option now is upgrade to keep. They apparently are getting far too many boxes back and this is the way to solve the problem at the customers expense.
If you are still needing the return instructions for future use, I still have a link with GE. Not for new sales, but for getting my customers away from one of the most back-stabbing vendors I have ever seen. I have one customer who had about 130k with GE. When renewal time came in January, the customer opted to return the equipment, and have us put them with CIT. We returned the equipment to Wolff Enterprises via Bekins Van Lines. First off, Wolff signs for the equipment, but does not physically check out the equipment until they are ready. First mistake: don't sign the bill of lading if machines are not checked. Then they have the audacity to bill the customer $330 for a broken finisher exit tray, $250 for dirty machines x 5, plus an additional $330 for another broken bypass tray. New charges came out to $1200. This customer paid about $1500 for shipping and insurance. To make a long story short, Ralston Purina's corporate attorney said GE could k--- their --- if they thought they were going to try and bring a lawsuit on them for failure to pay. GE dropped the charges, and I have not heard from them since.
When IKON sold GE so many of their accounts last year, word is that both IKON and GE lost. Can't say I feel sorry for them.
