A couple of quick questions:

A.) There are some year-old posts that suggest reliability issues that may or may not have been addressed. Does anyone have an install that is newer than a year old? If so, how has it gone?

B.) Is there any reason to believe that you can't run things through the Interposer and the GBC?

C.) The footnotes says that the Type 1075 3-hole punch is not recommended when using the GBC Punch. Anyone understand why or how serious the threat?

D.) I've read that Ricoh is no longer exclusive with the GBC. Does anyone know who else has access to it?

E.) My bid specs ask for the GBC Punch to be connected to a high-end color box (70 ppm B&W 35 ppm Color). Nothing in our 5560 information suggests that the GBC is an available option even though it uses the SR841 Finisher just as the GBC does. Why can't it work?

Any additional information would be greatly appreciated.

A) Reliability has improved, although not sure for the US market.

B) You can't punch from the interposer as this comes after the GBC. However if you prepunch stock and run it through the interposer then you'll have a finished document.

C) Correct. Firmware problem. However this was fixed for the AF2075 and SR841 finisher. (AF1075 uses SR840).

D) That's correct, can't remeber who.

E) Firmware. This may be available soon.
Here you go:

Northbrook, IL, February, 2006 - GBC, an ACCO Brands company (NYC: ABD) and market leader in the manufacturing and distribution of laminating and binding products, and Canon U.S.A., Inc., the nation's market share brand leader in black-and-white and color copier solutions*, have announced the launch of Canon’s Professional Puncher-A1, a new in-line punching solution that is compatible with Canon’s new imageRUNNER® 7105, 7095, 7095 Printer, and 7086 Digital Imaging Systems. Developed in partnership with GBC, the Canon Professional Puncher-A1 is a fully-integrated punching solution with interchangeable die sets for six popular binding styles: CombBind®, ColorCoil™, WireBind, three-ring, VeloBind®, and ProClick®.

Streamlining Production
Designed to streamline the document production process, the Canon Professional Puncher-A1 produces perfectly punched output at the rated system speed of the printer. The selected printers run at speeds of 105ppm, 95ppm, and 86ppm (based on letter-sized paper). A key feature of the Professional Puncher-A1 is easy job setup for in-line punching in both walk-up environments from the product’s graphical user interface and networked computers through Canon’s intuitively-designed print drivers.
