Fujitsu Components America Inc. has introduced a high-speed, 2-inch thermal printer mechanism capable of handling 60-100µm-thick receipt and linerless label media, making it versatile for a range of applications, according to a press release.
Boasting a top print speed of 80-millimeters/sec (640 dotlines/s) at 9VDC, the FTP-628MCL101#80/103#80 maximizes throughput in point-of-sale, ticketing, banking, test, measurement and medical equipment applications. Print resolution is 203 dpi.
The mechanism features Fujitsu's proprietary anti-stick platen roller and a removable platen to create a straight paper path for media loading and head maintenance. Its 50-kilometer head life allows service in a 0°C to +50°C operating temperature range (20 to 85% RH (no condensation)).
The FTP-628MCL101#80/103#80 has a compact 70.2mmD x 33.0mmW x 15.5mmH footprint and weighs 40.2g. Additionally, serial and USB interface boards, each measuring 67.2 x 32 mm, are available to support printing of alphanumeric KANA, international and special downloaded characters.
