SUNNYVALE, Calif., July 18, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Fujitsu today announced that a successful digital transformation project it implemented at the law firm of Fein, Such, Kahn, & Shepard (Fein Such) has won the Workflow Management Coalition (WfMC) Global Awards for Excellence in Case Management. In digitalizing a number of analog processes using an application built on the FUJITSU Software Interstage Business Operations Platform, Fein Such has experienced dramatic reductions in time spent processing paper documents, while improving accuracy of information gathering and input when performing legal transactions. The prestigious WfMC awards recognize user organizations worldwide that have demonstrably excelled in implementing innovative solutions.

Background
As a leading general practice legal firm, Fein Such has been providing comprehensive service to clients in New Jersey for over 25 years. In 2013, they made the decision to streamline many aspects of their business by undertaking an ambitious digital transformation project along with Fujitsu. Among other findings, Fein Such discovered they were wasting large amounts of time organizing documents by hand, which negatively impacted speed and accuracy of processes, both essential in a fast-paced legal environment.

In addition to reducing overall processing time per case by an estimated 50%, other benefits include extensive out-of-the-box functionality, eliminating the need to make incremental investments in additional functionality; increased employee productivity, thereby minimizing staff and increasing revenue; and functionality to track tasks that require follow up and notifying the user automatically to minimize oversights and improve quality.

System Details
As a leader in business process management (BPM), Fujitsu has delivered tools to customers of all sizes and with a variety of operational requirements. After an extensive consultation with Fein Such, the mutual decision was made to implement a system built on the Interstage Platform. This is a complete BPM and case management platform that can be offered on-premises or as a SaaS cloud solution. The system is hosted on Fujitsu cloud infrastructure and designed completely around web services, and offers a modern and easy-to-use drag-and-drop interface for designing applications over standard generic web services.

"Fein Such has demonstrated that digital transformation is truly a journey of business transformation," said Keith Swenson, Vice President R&D, Fujitsu America. "By streamlining their most critical processes on Fujitsu Interstage® software, they have placed tremendous trust in us, so were more than happy to acknowledge that trust by nominating them for the prestigious WfMC Global Awards for Excellence in Case Management. We congratulate them on their success in winning this award and, more importantly, we wish them success in the future as we continue our collaborative relationship."

"We're very excited that Fujitsu nominated our project for the WfMC award," said Mario Serra, Jr., Fein Such principal. "We take great pride in offering our clients high-quality legal representation, and this award shows that we are willing to continue evolving in order to provide the best service possible. Our employees report that they are comfortable and confident using this robust system, and that they've noticed significant time-saving benefits across a number of operations. We appreciate Fujitsu's efforts to build a customized platform tailored to our needs and look forward to seeking further opportunities to grow our business alongside them."
