RICOH CORPORATION INTRODUCES THE AFICIO 3035/3045 SERIES
Innovative Multifunctional Products Offer
Advanced Security and Bundled Software Solution

West Caldwell, NJ, October 12, 2005 – Ricoh Corporation, the leading provider of digital office equipment, has launched the Aficio® 3035/3045 Series, enhanced versions of the Ricoh 2035e/2045e. This new series builds upon the foundation of its predecessors by offering advanced faxing, improved security features, and a complete document management application for users in any business environment.

“Competition is growing in nearly every area of business, increasing the need for companies to be able to maintain speed, efficiency and security at every level within the organization, including documentation,” said Hede Nonaka, vice president of marketing for Ricoh Corporation. “The Aficio 3035/3045 Series helps make organizations more competitive through its enhanced technology and capabilities that allow users to streamline the document management process while ensuring total security.”

The Aficio 3035/3045 Series offers an extensive list of features designed to safeguard information at all points of contact. Windows/LDAP Authentication restricts access to the network PC by requiring users to input their existing name and password, and encryption protects data from interception, falsification and tampering during transmission. To prevent unauthorized copying of printed documents, the Copy Prevention Control feature embeds a pattern and text into the document. If the document is copied on the Aficio 3035/3045 device, equipped with the copy data unit, the original text is grayed out.

The DataOverwriteSecurity System (DOSS) provides an even higher level of information security assurance. DOSS automatically overwrites latent information on the devices’ hard drive after each copy, print and scan job. The overwrite methodology conforms to NSA standard for securing information remaining on digital systems hard drives and does not impede any of the Aficio 3035/3045’s feature set. Furthermore, in the late fall of 2005 two additional security systems will be available for the Aficio 3035/3045 Series. The Removable Hard Drive security system enables users to remove and store the device’s internal hard drive, and the VolatileMemorySecuritySystem replaces the system’s traditional magnetic media hard drive with volatile RAM.

Additional enhancements to the Aficio 3035/3045 Series include:
· Auto E-mail Notification delivers alert reports to designated e-mail addresses when a problem is detected to help IT/Key Operators easily monitor the device
· Advanced Scan & Fax Features include embedded Scan-to-URL, IP Faxing (T.38) and Fax Forwarding-to-Folder
· Hold/Stored Print eliminates the need to store documents in physical mail bins, saving space and providing a secure environment
· 466 MHz Processor Network printer via standard 10/100BaseTX Ethernet and USB 2.0 connectivity
· PDF Direct Print reduces network traffic and raises productivity

The Aficio 3035/3045SP Series comes pre-installed with DocumentMall to streamline document input, management and output. With Ricoh’s DocumentMall, customers can reliably store, edit, share, and retrieve electronic and digital documents virtually anywhere from a PC via the Internet. DocumentMall ensures document security by encrypting hardcopy documents scanned from the Aficio 3035/3045 Series into the service. This on-demand document management service provides businesses with a secure, managed environment that employees can access at any location.

The Aficio 3035/3045 Series is available in a variety of other configurations. Suggested retail price starts at $9,150.00 for the Aficio 3035 and $11,700.00 for the Aficio 3045. To learn more about Ricoh’s full line of multifunction products, please visit http://www.ricoh-usa.com.
