TOKYO -(MarketWatch)- Canon Inc. said Thursday it will temporarily shift ink jet printer production from a plant in Thailand that had halted operations due to flooding in the country.

A Canon spokeswoman said the company is preparing to shift production from next week to a plant in Vietnam and another Canon plant in Thailand to prevent any negative impact on product supplies toward the end of this year.

The spokeswoman also said Canon is preparing to temporarily shift production of printer paper from another Thai plant that was damaged by the flooding
