Does anyone have personal experience with the efi controlled C2500/C300/C3500/C4500? I would like to know what functionality is lost when you go to the Fiery Controller. I assume you lose Web Image Monitor but what about fax forwarding to email, add-hoc email, the ability to browse the network, printing to the Doc Server, etc.?

You would lose web image monitor, but fiery has a piece of software that comes with it called Command Workstation. It's a phenominal tool. You can control print jobs, reprint jobs, pull job history, color correct, interpose, and a wealth of other things. All the emailing functionality will still be available from what I've been told. Don't be afraid of the fiery, it's a great feature. I sold canon's for 5 years, never sold a color unit without the fiery option, it has tremendous value to the customer.
We have sold Fiery for years but never before on an MFP. Ricoh's Graphic Color boxes like the 6513 use Fiery and of course come with all the Fiery Utilities you mentioned. We also sell OKI and have some experience with the OKI MFP which has a Fiery RIP but the fax and email functionality is nothing like what we have become accustomed to with Ricoh.

Let me ask again...does anyone out there have hands-on experience with the fax and email capabilities with the new Fiery controlled Ricoh MFP's...the MP C2500efi up to the MP C4500efi.
This illustrates the problem...64 pages and not a thing about fax or email. No one from Ricoh knows anything about how EFI deals with fax and email and no one from EFI knows anything about how Ricoh deals with it.
What I would like is for someone from somewhere to tell me in what ways a current Ricoh MFP user will have to adapt or change if they get a Ricoh MFP with the Fiery. With every new model there is a "What's New, What's Different" I would like to see that comparing the Ricoh Controller to the Fiery as it relates to walk-up fax, fax forward to email, internet fax, ad-hoc email, etc. We all know what great things Fiery can do when it comes to the Command Workstation, Spooling, color control, etc.
What started this is a customer who is used to connected Ricoh MFP's. But when it came time to replace a Fiery driven 6513, they wanted to know if they would have all the same capabilities as they get with the MFP's if they got a Fiery controlled MFP and I couldn't tell them.
From what I've seen so far you CAN scan SMB, FTP, and Email. Also it has LDAP Support.
It CAN also do Walk up faxing, and internet faxing. You Can print to the Document Server.

You CAN'T lan-fax.

As far as fax forwarding I don't know.

A few other glitches we have found is the EFI version of Web image monitor has issues with IE7.

And Print jobs won't wake the machine up like they do on the Ricoh Controllers. The Fiery will take the job but it won't print it until you walk over and wake the machine up.
