I had a unique selling experience that I thought I would pass on in case anyone could benefit from it. U.S. Bankruptcy Court called for pricing on a 1075. They had bought six HP9100 Senders for $3000/ea about 6 months ago and they weren't holding up. He had researched on the internet and ran across info on the 75ipm 1075 from Ricoh. I suspected that the $18,000 GSA promo price for one 1075 might blow them away so I suggested the 1035 @ 52ipm which was only about $7,400. He got real excited...we put one on trial and within 2 weeks we got the P.O. for FIVE 1035's with printer/scanner units. I realize that the fact they money they had to spend by September 30th was an important factor. However, these were educated people who after doing extensive research, came to the conclusion that the best scanner for their money were Ricoh Aficio 1035 "scanners" that happened to have copiers attached. They estimate that they will run next to no copies or prints on the 1035's...less than 12,000 PER YEAR per unit because it will bog down the exstensive scanning that has to get done.

Their copiers are connected Xerox DocumentCentres and Canon ImageRunners but very much preferred ScanRouter software and Ricoh's large interactive display.

If anyone has a U.S Bankruptcy Court Office as part of their assigned territory, I would be more than happy to give my contact's name and number to use as a reference.
