I have heard from a friend that the Equitrac systems has problems, this friend has also said that if this is an account that you would like to keep, "stay away from the Equitrac Software".

Do any you have have any systems out in the field, and if so, how have the customers responded to the performance of the software?

Thanx

I placed an equitrac solution in the beginning of 2003. It went very rough and we ended up pulling the fax tracking piece tied to a 5000L. I chalked most of the issues up to a Windows 95 environment and the fact that the law firm was not very technically savvy. Maybe there was more to it? This is the only poor experience that I have heard. And, I believe they serve 80% of the largest law firms in the country. They can't be problematic. And the Equitrac component dramatically boosted GP!!! They most likely have a "somewhat" local office to most reps, however their main office is in Georgia, find out at their website. They were extremely helpful in pre-sales. Use them in advance. They will send you a probing sheet to uncover the details you need to know to configure your solution. I will use them again!
We have had mixed results with Equitrac. Most of the Problems have been poor qualifying/product knowledge related. The software does a lot of stuff (sorry for the technical jargon Smile) but undoubtedly there turns out to be something the customer wants that it doesn’t do well or doesn’t quite do, or doesn’t do at all.

Its kinda like fax forwarding issues or OCR capabilities, some customers underestimate the process/requirements and overestimate the product capabilities and are ultimately left disappointed.

Don’t get me wrong, when positioned correctly the product does work well. I would highly recommend getting Equitrac involved early in the sales process ( we have had good experiences with their sales and support staff) and even consider, on a major major account, having equitrac handle the installation
